Ah, yes - yet another in a long line of bike I've spent too much time rebuilding. But over the past several years I've been honing my polishing technique and this one was almost completely original so I decided to go completely overboard. The only things missing were the Campy derailleurs and shifters but I just happened to have a correctly-dated set in my parts pile. All told, I have about fifty hours in this one and most of that was spent polishing aluminum. I did, however, spend a fair amount of time recutting the bearing surface of the outer cone on the right pedal. Hey, Atom 700s are tough to find and I thought (correctly, as it turns out) that I could save it. You may also notice that the pictured saddle is some horrible new titanium-railed monstrosity. That's because I'd appropriated the original Brooks Team Professional for temporary use on my Zieleman, though it's since been returned to its original location. Since this one is too small for me and since it's close to the proper size for the owner of my LBS it's currently hanging in his shop, available for him to ride when he feels like it. Better than collecting dust in my garage, right?
